Nye (1975) stated:-

Tarsolepis resembles Antiophlebia Felder, 1874, and has been incorrectly used in the Noctuidae.

Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:-

T. remicauda is a junior subjective synonym of Crino sommeri Hübner, [1821] 1806, Samml. exot. Schmett. 2: pl.[197].

TARSOLEPIS was included within the subfamily NOTODONTIDAE: DUDUSIINAE by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999).
