Notes:
Fletcher (1979) stated:-

Guenée proposed Syrtodes for seven species, which he divided into three groups. The first group included only one species, Syrtodes cythereata Guenée, which the author regarded as atypical and which he stated would later on form a distant genus (`Il formera un genre par la suite').

Warren's qualified restriction (1904, Novit. zool. 11: 124) of Syrtodes to S. cythereata and his redescription of the genus to accommodate that species is not only clearly contrary to Guenée's concept of Syrtodes, but does not constitute a valid designation of type-species under Article 67(c) of the Code.

Parsons et al. (1999) included AMBLURODES Warren, 1900; ISCHNOPTERIX Hübner, 1825; ISCHNOPTERYX Agassiz, 1847; SYRTODES Guenée, 1858; and TRICHOSTICHIA Warren, 1895 as junior synonyms of ISCHNOPTERIS Hübner, 1823.
