Syntonarcha was established in the Pyralididae, now Pyralidae; it was placed in the Pyralidae Pyralinae by Hampson, 1896 Trans. ent. Soc. Lond. 1896: 496; and in the Pyralidae Odontiinae by Munroe, 1961 Can. Ent. (Suppl.) 24: 5.

Shaffer (pers. comm.) treats SYNTONARCHA in the CRAMBIDAE: ODONTIINAE.
