Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:-

Synnympha was included in the "Lyonetiadae", by Fletcher, 1929, Mem. Dep. Agric. India (Ent.) 11: 214; it was placed in the Tineidae on the advice of our colleague Dr G.S. Robinson.

Synnympha Meyrick, 1915 was treated in the Tineidae in Nye and Fletcher 1991, 6 : 294. Synnympha has subsequently been referred from the Tineidae to the Gracillariidae by Robinson & Tuck, 1996, Occasional Papers on Systematic Entomology 9 : 16.
