Fletcher (1979) stated:-

This genus was originally proposed in the Bombycidae, but has since been transferred to the Geometridae, where it was placed by Prout, 1912, in Wytsman, Genera Insect. 129: 45.

Parsons et al. (1999) included 5 species in the genus SYNCLYSMUS.
