Notes:
Fletcher (1979) stated:-

Guenée, 1857, in Boisduval & Guenée, Hist. nat. Insectes (Spec. gén. Lépid.) 10: 120 stated that the species which Boisduval had determined and included in Sthanelia as Phalaena fuscaria Thunberg, 1792, was a misidentification of Phalaena tibiaria Rambur and he there synonymized Phalaena fuscaria Thunberg sensu Boisduval, 1840, with Phalaena tibiaria Rambur, 1829.
Under Article 70(a) of the Code, the case of a misidentified type-species should be referred to the Commission. The original combination of the type-species was published as * Phalena tibiaria, an incorrect spelling of Phalaena.

Parsons et al. (1999) included STHANELIA Boisduval, 1840 as a junior synonym of PACHYCNEMIA Stephens, 1829.
