Fletcher (1979) stated:-

This genus was originally proposed in the Hydriomeninae (now Larentiinae), but was transferred to the Sterrhinae by Prout, 1934, in Strand, Lepid. Cat. 63: 431.

Parsons et al. (1999) included COPHOPODA Warren, 1906 as a junior synonym of STENORRHOE Warren, 1900. Parsons et al. (1999) included only 1 species in the genus STENORRHOE.
