Notes:
Nye (1975) stated:-

S. snelleni is a junior subjective synonym of Noctua speciosa Bremer, 1861, Bull. Acad. imp. Sci. St. Pétersb. 3: 486; but as the latter is a junior primary homonym of Noctua speciosa Hübner, [1813], Samml. eur. Schmett. 4: pl. 104, fig. 491, and as S. snelleni is the subjective replacement name, then snelleni remains the valid name for the species.

Poole (1989) included SIDEMIA in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE, subsequently restricted to the genus AMPHIPYRA by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Other genera formerly treated in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE are treated as HADENINAE by Kitching & Rawlins (loc. cit.).

Poole (1989) included 9 species in the genus SIDEMIA.
