Notes:
Nye (1975) stated:-

Scythocentropus was proposed as the objective replacement name for Centropus Christoph, 1889.

Poole (1989) included SCYTHOCENTROPUS in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE, subsequently restricted to the genus AMPHIPYRA by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Other genera formerly treated in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE are treated as HADENINAE by Kitching & Rawlins (loc. cit.).

Poole (1989) included CENTROPUS Christoph, 1889 (preoccupied); HUGONIA ALperaky, 1902; and CENTROPODIA Hampson, 1908 as junior synonyms of SCYTHOCENTROPUS Speiser, 1902.

Poole (1989) included 3 species in the genus SCYTHOCENTROPUS.
