Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:-

Sarsina was established in the Liparidae, now Lymantriidae; it was transferred from the Liparidae, but not placed elsewhere, by Swinhoe, 1903, Trans. ent. Soc. Lond. 1903: 497; it is currently retained in the Lymantriidae.

SARSINA was included within the family LYMANTRIIDAE by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999).
