Hemming (1967) stated:-

The taxon represented by the nominal species Ithomia pusio Godman & Salvin is currently treated subjectively on taxonomic grounds as being the same as that represented by the older-established nominal species Ithomia utilla Hewitson, [1856] (Ill. exot. Butts 1 : [51], pl. [26], fig. 101).
