Prorasea was transferred from the Pyralidae Pyraustinae to the Pyralidae Evergestinae by Munroe, [1974] 1973, Moths Am. N. of Mexico 13 (1C): 254.

Shaffer (pers. comm.) treats PRORASEA in the CRAMBIDAE: EVERGESTINAE.
