Fletcher (1979) stated:-

Prout, 1934, in Strand, Lepid. Cat. 61: 129, indicated that Warren's original designation of Prasinochrysa eucharis (Drury) as type-species was based on a misidentification. Confirmation of this misidentification exists among Warren's manuscript notes in the BMNH; a pencil drawing of Chrysauge detracta Walker, representing one of the five specimens from Venezuela and Peru which Warren had studied, is labelled 'Prasinochrysa eucharis Drury' in Warren's hand-writing; one of the five specimens in the BMNH similarly labelled.

See Frontispiece 1, fig.6, Chrysange detracta Walker, male.

Under Article 70(a) of the Code the case of a misidentified type-species should be referred to the Commission.

Parsons et al. (1999) included 2 species and 3 subspecies (inc. nominates) in the genus PRASINOCHRYSA.
