Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:-

Postemmalocera was established in the Pyralidae but was not placed in a subfamily; it was referred to the Anerastiini, now part Pyralidae Peoriinae, part Pyralidae Phycitinae, by Roesler, 1973, in Amsel et al. , Microlepid. Palaearctica 4: 663; on the advice of Dr J. Shaffer, Virginia, it is here placed in the Peoriinae.
