Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:-

Polyocha was established as a subgenus of Hypochalcia Hübner, [1825], in the Phycideae, now Pyralidae Phycitinae; it was placed in the Pyralidae Anerastiinae, part now Pyralidae Peoriinae, part Phycitinae, by Hampson, 1896 Fauna Br. India (Moths) 4: 61; on the advice of Dr J. Shaffer, Virginia, it is here placed in the Peoriinae.
