Hemming (1967) stated:-

The taxon represented by the nominal species Hesperia peckius Kirby is currently treated subjectively as being the same as that represented by the older-established nominal species Papilio coras Cramer, [1775] (Uitl. Kapellen 1 (3) : 51, pl. 31, fig. F).

POLITES was included within the subfamily HESPERIIDAE: HESPERIINAE by Ackery et al., in Kristensen (1999).
