Nye (1975) stated:-

P. soluta is a junior subjective synonym of Acronycta pruinosa Guenée, 1852, in Boisduval & Guenée, Hist. nat. Insectes (Lépid.) 5: 53.

Plataplecta Butler, 1878 was established to denote a subgenus of Acronicta Ochsenheimer, 1816 and was treated as a valid subgenus (of Acronicta Ochsenheimer, 1816) being revalidated by Sugi, 1979, Tinea 10 (24) : 250. Plataplectra has subsequently been raised to generic level by Inoue, Sugi, Kuroko, Moriuti and Kawabe, 1982, Moths of Japan Vol. 2 : 346.
