Fletcher (1979) stated:-

Pirgula was originally proposed in the Pterothysanidae, but has since been transferred to the Lymantriidae, where it was placed by Collenette, 1931, Ann. Mag. nat. Hist. (10) 7: 511.

Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:-

P. decempunctata is a junior subjective synonym of Antiphella atrinotata Butler, 1896, Proc. zool. Soc. Lond. 1896: 854, pl.43 fig.5.

Pirgula was established in the Pterothysanidae; P. decempunctata was placed in the Lymantriidae by Collenette, 1931, Ann. Mag. nat. Hist. (10) 7: 511.
