Hemming (1967) stated:-

The specific name nysiella Röber was originally proposed in manuscript by Staudinger.

Pierphulia Field, 1958, was proposed to denote a subgenus of Piercolias Grote, 1903 it has been subsequently raised to generic level by Field & Herrera, 1977, Smithsonian Contr. Zool. No. 222 : 30.
