Nye (1975) stated:-

P. callitrichoides was described as a new species by Grote for the misidentification Doryodes acutalis Walker, [1859] 1858, List Specimens lepid. Insects Colln Br. Mus. 16: 73. Walker proposed acutalis as an emendation of Ligia acutaria Herrich-Schäffer [1852], but because of the misidentification acutalis Walker has at times been incorrectly used for callitrichoides Grote.
