Notes:
Fletcher (1979) stated:-

This genus was originally proposed in the Drepanidae, but has since been transferred to the Eupterotidae; its first published use in this family appears to have been by Hampson, [1893] 1892, Fauna Br. India (Moths) 1: 52.

Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:-

Apona pallida is a junior subjective synonym of Gastropacha caschmirensis Kollar, [1844] 1848, in Hügel, Kaschmir und das Reich der Siek 4 (2): 472, pl.21, fig.4.

Apona was established in the Drepanulidae, now Drepanulidae, now Drepanidae; it was placed in the Lasiocampidae by Moore, 1872, Proc. zool. Soc. Lond. 1872: 579; and in the Eupterotidae by Hampson, [1893] 1892, Fauna Br. India (Moths) 1: 52.
