Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:-

The type-locality was published as Kuilu, without further information. The river, formerly spelt Kuilu, flows northwards through Angola and Zaire into the Kasai river; in Zaire it is spelt Kwilu, in Angola Cuilo.

Pehria was proposed as the objective replacement name for Parameta Aurivillius, 1909.
