Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:-

O. acerifoliella was also published by Fitch, 1856, Rep. noxious, beneficial and other Insects, State N.Y. 2: 269, pl.4 fig.5. The precise dates of publication of the two Fitch works are not known. The sequence adopted in this catalogue follows that used by Franclemont, 1973, in Dominick et al., Moths Am. N. of Mexico 20 (1): 33, 38.

Paraclemensia was established as an objective replacement name for Brackenridgia Busck, 1903, a junior homonym.

PARACLEMENSIA was included within the family INCURVARIIDAE by Davis, in Kristensen (1999).
