Apha was established in the Drepanulidae, now Drepanidae; it was placed in the Lasiocampidae by Butler, 1881, Illust. typical Specimens Lepid. Heterocera Colln Br. Mus. 5: xii, 64; and in the Eupterotidae by Swinhoe, 1892, Cat. east. and Aust. Lepid. Heterocera Colln Oxf. Univ. Mus. 1: 272.
