Notes:
Nye (1975) stated:-

Available, but without included species until Walker, 1862, ibidem 24: 1089. Oruza when originally proposed contained a second species, but this was doubtfully included and, under the Code, Article 68 (c), is not eligible for selection as type-species.

Fletcher (1979, Generic Names of Moths of the World) stated:-

This genus was originally proposed in the Geometridae, but has since been transferred to the Noctuidae; its first published use in this family appears to have been by Hampson, 1894, Fauna Br. India (Moths) 2: xvi, 348.

Poole (1989) included CURVATULA Staudinger, 1892; and VITTAPPRESSA Bethune-Baker, 1906 as junior synonyms of ORUZA Walker, 1861.

Poole (1989) included 49 species in the genus ORUZA.
