Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:-

Orthoclostera was established in the Notodontidae; it was placed in the Noctuidae by Hampson, 1912, Cat. Lepid. Phalaenae Br. Mus. 11: 109.

Poole (1989) included ADRANA Walker, 1858; ORTHOCLOSTERA Butler, 1878; CALLINGURA Butler, 1894; and INGURA Guenée, 1852 as a junior synonyms of PAECTES Hübner, 1818.
