Parsons et al. (1999) included ARGYROPLUTODES Warren, 1894; CALLURAPTERYX Warren, 1894; and OPHTHALMOPHORA Guenée, 1857 a junior synonyms of OPISTHOXIA Hübner, 1825.

Parsons et al. (1999) included 86 species and 2 subspecies (inc. nominates) in the genus OPISTHOXIA.
