Fletcher (1979) stated:-

Neave, 1940, Nomencl. zool. 3: 410 cited Walker, 1859, in Tennent, Ceylon (Edn 2) 1: 289, but this was an incorrect reference; the name Omiza was not used in Tennent.

Parsons et al. (1999) included 5 species and 2 subspecies (inc. nominates) in the genus OMIZA.
