Notes:
Fletcher (1979) stated:-

Guenée associated three other names with Nematocampa when it was proposed; one, limbata Haworth, was doubtfully included; the other two names resistaria Herrich-Schäffer and vestitaria Herrich-Schäffer which were listed as synonymous, were included for a subspecies or a form of filamentaria. According to Article 68(c) of the Code these taxa are not eligible for selection as type-species.

Nematocampa filamentaria is a junior subjective synonym of Phalaena limbata Haworth, 1809, Lepid. Br.: 346.

Parsons et al. (1999) included 16 species and 2 subspecies (inc. nominates) in the genus NEMATOCAMPA.
