Hemming (1967) stated:-

The taxon represented by the nominal species Lampides prominens Moore is currently treated subjectively on taxonomic grounds as a subspecies of the taxon represented by the older-established nominal species Lycaena kurava Moore, 1857 (in Horsfield & Moore, Cat. Lep. Ins. Mus. East India Coy (1) : 22.

A proposal was made to conserve Nacaduba Moore, [1881], (taking precedence over Pepliphorus Hübner, 1819 and its synonyms) by Hirowatari, 1993, Case 2851, Bulletin of Zoological Nomenclature 50 (1) : 36. A propsal was also made to place Nacabuda on the Official List of Generic Names in Zoology.

NACADUBA was included within the subfamily LYCAENIDAE: LYCAENINAE by Ackery et al., in Kristensen (1999).

The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
