Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:-

Myelois medullalis Hübner, [1825] 1816 ibidem 371, was proposed unnecessarily as an objective replacement name for Tinea cribrella Hübner 1796; under the Code, Article 67(e), the senior objective synonym is to be cited as the name of the type-species.
