Miscera was established in the Choreutidae; it was placed in the Plutellidae by Meyrick, 1907, Proc. Linn. Soc. N.S.W. 32: 100; in the Glyphipterigidae by Meyrick, 1913, in Wagner, Lepid. Cat. 13: 31; and in the Brachodidae by Heppner, 1979, Ent. Ber., Amst. 39: 127.

Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:-

Miscera was included in the "Glyphipterygidae" by Fletcher, 1929, Mem. Dep. Agric. India (Ent.) 11: 141; and in the Brachodidae by Heppner, 1979, Ent. Ber., Amst. 39: 127.
