Notes:
Newman, 1871 is the correct auhorship of Melitaeinae [previously used as a subfamily of the Nymphalidae, with the type-genus Melitaea Fabricius, 1807] and not Reuter, 1896; Kocak 1989, Priamus : 5 (1-2) : 5.

MELITAEA was included within the subfamily NYMPHALIDAE: NYMPHALINAE by Ackery et al., in Kristensen (1999).

The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
