Lysipatha was included in the "Gelechiadae" by Fletcher, 1929, Mem. Dep. Agric. India (Ent.) 11: 131; it was transferred to the Timyridae, now Lecithoceridae, by Clarke, 1955, Cat. Type Specimens Microlepid. Br. Mus. nat. Hist. descr. E. Meyrick 1: 20; and was included in the Gelechiidae by Clarke, 1969, ibidem 7: 228.
