Lygropia Lederer, 1863 was treated as a valid genus and brought out of synonymy by Rose, 1982, Journal of the Entomological Research 6 (1) : 60.

LYGROPIA was included within the subfamily CRAMBIDAE: PYRAUSTINAE by Munroe & Solis, in Kristensen (1999).

Shaffer (pers. comm.) treats LYGROPIA in the CRAMBIDAE: SPILOMELINAE.
