Lycomorpha was established as a subgenus of Glaucopis Fabricius, 1807, in the `Zygaenides', now Zygaenidae; it was placed in the Syntomidae, now Ctenuchidae, by Hampson, 1898, Cat. Lepid. Phalaenae Br. Mus. 1: 522; and was placed in the Lithosiidae by Forbes, 1960, Lepid. New York and neighboring States 4: 50.
