Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:-

A lectotype was designated by Swinhoe, 1892, Cat. east. and Aust. Lepid. Heterocera Colln Oxf. Univ. Mus. 1: 247.

The two volumes of Horsfield & Moore's Catalogue were published with different title-pages; that of volume 1 was published as A Catalogue of the lepidopterous Insects in the Museum of the Hon. East-India Company, that of volume 2 as A Catalogue of the Lepidopterous Insects in the Museum of natural History at East-India House. The dates of publication of the two volumes were discussed and listed by Cowan, 1975, J. Soc. Biblphy nat. Hist. 7 (3): 273-284.

LOEPA was included within the subfamily SATURNIIDAE: SATURNIINAE by Lemaire & Minet, in Kristensen (1999).
