Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:-

Hampson cited as type-species Eurois crassipennis Walker, 1857, a nominal species not originally included in Locastra. At the same time, however Hampson placed crassipennis as a senior synonym of maimonalis, a nominal species originally included in Locastra. Under the Code, Article 69(a)(iv), this designation constitutes the fixation of the originally included nominal species as the type-species.

Locastra was established in the Herminidae, now Noctuidae Hypeninae; it was placed in the Pyralidae Epipaschiinae by Hampson, 1896 ibidem 1896: 454, 469.
