Shaffer (pers. comm.) treats LINEODES in the CRAMBIDAE: SPILOMELINAE.

'Scotonoma Zeller, 1873, Verh. zool.-bot. Ges. Wien 23 (Abh.): 327 has two included species Scotonoma integra Zeller, 1873 and S. interrupta Zeller, 1873. I could not trace any type-species-selection for this genus. Both included species are currently placed in the genus Lineodes Guenée, 1854 (Crambidae, Pyraustinae viz. Spilomelinae, if the latter subfamily is separated from Spilomelinae) where Scotonoma disappears in synonymy' (pers. comm. , Wolfgang Speidel).
