Nye (1975) stated:-

Lathraeolis has hitherto been placed in the Noctuidae, Sarrothripinae, but Dr I. F. B. Common, C. S. I. R. O., Canberra, has informed me that it should be transferred to the Geometridae, Ennominae.

Fletcher (1979) stated:-

This genus was originally proposed in the Noctuidae, but has been transferred to the Geometridae on the advice of Dr. I.F.B. Common, C.S.I.R.O., Canberra. The transfer was published by Nye, 1975, Generic Names Moths World 1: 270.

Parsons et al. (1999) included LATHRAEOLIS Turner, 1936 as a junior synonym of CORULA Walker, 1856.
