Nye (1975) stated:-

ACHANTODES was originally placed in the NOCTUIDAE.

Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:-

ACHANTODES was established in the NOCTUIDAE; it was placed in the PYRALIDAE, PYRAUSTINAE by Hampson, 1899, Proc. zool. Soc. Lond. 1898 (4): 595, 707; and transferred to the PYRALIDAE, GLAPHYRIINAE by Munroe, 1964, Can. Ent. 96: 1261, which is treated as a subfamily of CRAMBIDAE by Munroe & Solis, in Kristensen (1999).

Shaffer (pers. comm.) treats ACHANTODES in the CRAMBIDAE: GLAPHYRIINAE.
