Nye (1975) stated:-

Poole (1989) included ITOMIA in the subfamily OPHIDERINAE, treated as CALPINAE by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999).

Poole (1989) included PSEUDOBENDIS Butler, 1896 as a junior synonym of ITOMIA (as ITONIA on page 847) Hübner, 1823.

Poole (1989) included 7 species in the genus ITOMIA.
