Irenidora Meyrick, 1938, was referred to the Symmocidae from the Lecithoceridae by Gozmany, 1978, in Microlepidoptera Palaearctica, Amsel, Gregor and Reisser [Eds] Volume 5, Lecithoceridae, p. 262.

Irenidora was treated in the Gelechiidae by Nye & Fletcher 1991, 6 : 160.

Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:-

Irenidora was established in the "Gelechiadae"; it was transferred to the Timyridae, now Lecithoceridae, by Clarke, 1955, Cat. Type Specimens Microlepid. Br. Mus. nat. Hist. descr. E. Meyrick 1: 20; it was placed in the Blastobasidae by Clarke, 1955, ibidem 1: 21; and again placed in the Gelechiidae by Clarke, 1969, ibidem 7: 207.
