Imosca was treated in the Noctuidae, Amphipyrinae by Sugi, 1984 and has subsequently been referred to the Eustrotiinae (from the Amphipyrinae) within the Noctuidae by Speidel, Fanger & Naumann, 1996, Systematic Entomology 21 (3) : 249.
