Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:-

Hoploscopa was established in the Scopariadae, now Pyralidae Scopariinae; it was placed in the Pyralidae Hydrocampinae, now Nymphulinae, by Hampson, 1897 Trans. ent. Soc. Lond. 1897: 223, and retained in that subfamily by Tams, 1935, Insects Samoa 3 (4): 271; it was placed in the Pyralidae Crambinae by Bleszynski & Collins, 1962 Acta zool cracov. 7: 318; it is here restored to the Scopariinae on the advice of Dr E. Munroe, Ottawa (personal commn, May 1982).
