Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:-

Heortia was not placed in a subfamily when it was established in the Pyralididae, now Pyralidae; it was placed in the Pyralidae Pyraustinae by Hampson 1896 Fauna Br. India (Moths) 4: 363; and in the Pyralidae Odontiinae by Munroe, 1961 Can. Ent. (Suppl.) 24: 5.

HEORTIA was included within the subfamily CRAMBIDAE: ODONTIINAE by Munroe & Solis, in Kristensen (1999).

Shaffer (pers. comm.) treats HEORTIA in the CRAMBIDAE: ODONTIINAE.
