Fletcher (1979) stated:-

This genus was originally proposed in the Orthostixinae (now Oenochrominae) but was transferred to the Cyllopodinae (now Sterrhinae) by Warren, 1904, Novit. zool. 11: 17. Corrections to the original generic diagnosis were made in the same note.

Parsons et al. (1999) included ASIONA Walker, 1854 [May 13]; and HEMIGYMNODES Warren, 1894 as junior synonyms of MYRICE Walker, 1854.
