Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:-

Established unnecessarily as an objective replacement name for Fumaria Haworth, 1811, which is not preoccupied in Zoological nomenclature.

Fumea was again proposed by Haworth, 1828, Lepid. Br.: 590, as an objective replacement name for Fumaria Haworth, 1811.

Treated as a junior synonym of Psyche by Davis & Robinson in Kristensen (1999).

FUMEA was included within the family PSYCHIDAE by Davis & Robinson, in Kristensen (1999).
