Fletcher (1979) stated:-

F. brunneata is a junior subjective synonym of Megadrepana cinerea Holland, 1893, Ent. News 4: 178. This genus was originally proposed in the Saturniidae, subfamily Ludiinae, but was transferred to the Geometridae by Hering, 1928, Ent. Z., Frankf.a.M. 42: 177.

Parsons et al. (1999) included FALCATULULA Strand, 1912 as a junior synonym of MEGADREPANA Holland, 1893.
