Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:-

Amana was established in the Arctiidae; it was placed in the Liparidae, now Lymantriidae, by Kirby, 1892, Synonymic Cat. Lepid. Heterocera 1: 474; and was placed in the Epiplemidae by Swinhoe, 1894, Trans. ent. Soc. Lond. 1894: 164.
